SUMMARY:Waterloo Makes Music: Kid Tigrrr and Benjamin Liar
DESCRIPTION:Waterloo Makes Music is a free concert series\, presented by Cleveland Rocks: Past\, Present\, Future\, showcasing acts from the Cleveland music scene at various locations in the Waterloo Arts & Entertainment District. \nFri\, December 6\, 2024 • 7-9pm\nCleveland Rocks Shop (15801 Waterloo Rd\, Cleveland) \nKid Tigrrr\nKid Tigrrr’s debut album\, Stoned + Animald\, is an ethereal blend of art-rock\, melancholy indie\, and dream-pop\, tackling subjects such as abuse\, addiction\, and mental health. Being largely home recorded and self-produced with a spirit of experimentation\, the artist paints lush atmospheres around her most confessional work to date\, pushing singer-songwriter Jenna Fournier’s horizons both sonically and conceptually. It’s part bedroom pop\, part ambient\, and part an embracement of her early folk roots\, while shoegaze influences shimmer with a dose of 90’s nostalgia.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/kid.tigrrr.music \nBenjamin Liar\nBenjamin Liar has been a writer\, musician\, filmmaker\, game developer\, bartender\, cartographer\, estimator\, semi-professional drinker\, ditch-digger\, file organizer\, rockabilly bassist\, bad actor\, screenwriter\, house painter\, passionate fort-builder\, reformed preacher\, drywall hanger\, decent friend and terrible lover. He has his first book coming out this summer\, and it’s called The Failures. SUMMARY:Waterloo Makes Music: Frida and the Mann & Joshua Jesty and the Intimacy Coordinators
DESCRIPTION:Waterloo Makes Music is a free concert series\, presented by Cleveland Rocks: Past\, Present\, Future\, showcasing acts from the Cleveland music scene at various locations in the Waterloo Arts & Entertainment District.\n\n\nFri\, October 4th\n7pm • Treelawn Social Club (15335 Waterloo Rd\, Cleveland)\nFree Event!\n\n\nFrida and the MannFrom Frida and the Mann’s Inception\, the goal was simple. Make music that people can feel. Be unapologetic. Be raw. Be true. This band from cleveland Ohio was formed in 2023\, in someone else’s basement\, in a small space\, with big dreams. Now winners of the 2024 Cleveland Music Awards Best New Artist they are well on their way! Their alternative rock sound hits hard because it’s straight from the soul. Catch them tearing up Cleveland’s legendary spots like Grog Shop and Beachland\, or just sit back and watch as they explode onto the scene.\n\nJoshua Jesty and the Intimacy CoordinatorsLook to the person to your left\, now look to the person to your right\, now look inside yourself. Look deeper\, deeper still into the darkness and the loss and the shame and the joy and the awkwardness and the blemishes of your soul and find the hope that keeps you spinning in this ongoing divine comedy. Joshua has probably written a song about one of those things you looked at. Maybe the internal struggle/soul stuff\, but if the person to your left was Candace\, it was probably about her.Joshua and the intimacy coordinators have been obliterating everyone sonically in their path from the hills of the West side of Cleveland to the hills of the East side of Cleveland.Joshua’s music has won praise in NME\, Pitchfork\, made several appearances in best of lists in rolling stone and earned him a noble peace prize as well as made a few best of lists in the scene magazine and he knows how to dance to salsa music. At least two of those things are true. If you like your songs a little sarcastic and sometimes heartbreaking with college rock energy that’s catchy and hook laden with that loud quiet loud dynamic and NO costume changes at all\, you’re home friend.\n\nFree Event!\n\nThis event is made possible with support from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.

SUMMARY:Kid Tigrrr Record Release Party
DESCRIPTION:The Cleveland Museum of Art has partnered with the Cleveland Rocks’ Music Incubator Program to present an album-release concert for Cleveland’s own Kid Tigrrr. The performance will include opening support featuring Benjamin Liar and Brent Kirby as well as an original mixed media art exhibition curated by Kid Tigrrr. Doors open at 7pm with the concert beginning at 8pm. Transformer Station is located at 1460 West 29th Street (at the corner of Church Avenue)\, Cleveland\, OH 44113. \nKid Tigrrr is the new solo project from singer-songwriter and visual artist Jenna Fournier\, front woman of the shoegaze hybrid group Niights. Following two studio releases and four international tours to Japan\, Fournier parted ways with her record label and ventured into audio engineering to experiment with home recording and production. Kid Tigrrr’s debut LP\, Stoned and Animald\, is an ethereal blend of art-rock\, indie folk\, and dream pop\, painting lush atmospheres around her most intimate writing to date. Tackling subjects such as abuse\, addiction\, and mental health\, the project pushes Fournier’s horizons both conceptually and sonically\, landing the artist an endorsement from Reverend Guitars. Kid Tigrrr’s first self-produced single\, “Shapes of Water\,” began as an official pedal demo for EarthQuaker Devices and was later premiered by DKFM Shoegaze Radio. Her second single\, “Scry\,” is an unconventional track derivative of Slowdive’s “Machine Gun” and was released with a personal blessing from songwriter Neil Halstead. Kid Tigrrr’s third release\, “Skin\,” garnered attention for its universally relatable message\, including a shout-out in the Guardian from the Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan\, a long-time influence of her songwriting and sound. Kid Tigrrr also finds inspiration from Grouper\, Mazzy Star\, My Bloody Valentine\, CocoRosie\, Grimes\, and the Cure. More info about Kid Tigrrr can be found on her Bandcamp page: https://kidtigrrr.bandcamp.com/
