If you’re a fan of live music, or love someone who is, now is the time to help your local music community.
Local musicians, and the venues that support them, are the least-funded sector of our Northeast Ohio arts and culture economy. Many professional musicians rely entirely on the gig economy and the bar and restaurant industry for their livelihood, and they lost all of their employment overnight. As a totally shutdown workforce, they have few resources – little or no option for unemployment compensation, few other sources of income, and no good solutions in sight for many months to come. If you believe, as we do, that our local music scene matters, that the artists who make it happen are important – you can help. Your gift, of any amount, can help keep the music playing.
Support of Cleveland Rocks’ programs, which have included the NEO Music Relief Fund, #SaveCLEVenues Fund, and Wednesdays Songs and Stages to name a few, will give much-needed support to local musicians and music venue employees who suddenly lost their livelihood and may be struggling to survive. When we are all allowed to gather again for a music event, it will be a mighty celebration – but it will take months and months for venues to emerge from this setback. All of the people who perform and work to serve the local music scene are going to need help to get through this. Because we recognize how important music and the musicians are to our community, we are working to provide financial assistance to those in the scene who need it the most because of this pandemic disaster. Your gift will change lives. Thank you for supporting Northeast Ohio’s live music scene.’
