Jack & The Optimists

Jack McLaughlin is heavily inspired by the vintage styles of Mod legends The Small Faces, and The Who, mixed with the modern-day alternative styles of Jack White and The Lemon Twigs.  Jack released his first album “Clementine” in May of 2022 and released his second album “Shades of You” in November of 2023.  Jack’s third album is due out in May of 2026.

Jack is a multi-instrumentalist who started playing violin and drums at age seven. He picked up the guitar at age fifteen and now plays both rhythm and lead guitar in live settings as a trio with his backing band, Jack and the Optimists.  Jack has opened for national acts in the Cleveland area including Mike Viola, EXTC (of XTC), McKinley James, and The Thing.

Jack earned his BA in music at Cleveland State University in May of 2025 and his associates degree in Recording Arts at Tri-C.  Playing out live since he was sixteen, Jack is a seasoned engaging performer.
